I was going to wait until tomorrow or the next day to release this video because, hopefully, I will be done with and post my solutions to the 3 Free Response Questions for the 1998 AP Physics C Released Mechanics Exam. However, Zhang Shuhan, posted a thank you comment on my Mechanics Review Video and mentioned that his exam is tomorrow. So, Zhang Shuhan, I hope these 8 General Suggestions are helpful and Enjoy Your Exam! |

This holiday vacation I have pretty much taken a break from working on Flipping Physics. Sure I have written a couple of Lecture Notes for videos I plan to do soon, submitted an Annual Report for Flipping Physics, LLC and published the FP Trailer, however, really, I haven't done much. It's pretty clear that the rest of the United States has taken a large break from learning about physics as well. However, something funny happened starting in 2014.
Singapore discovered Flipping Physics. So far In 2014 approximately 61% of the time spent on my website has been by people in Singapore. In fact, only 27% of the time spent on the website in 2014 has been by people in the US. Contrast that with December of 2013 where 78% of the time was by people in the US and only 0.4% was by people in Singapore. Slowly, but surely, Flipping Physics is TAKING OVER THE WORLD!!
My Traditional vs. Flipped video is going to be referenced in a book!! Oh yeah. The book is going to be by Kathleen Fulton and will be titled "Time for Learning: Top Ten Reasons Why Flipping the Classroom Can Change Education” and will be coming out in late spring of 2014. Oh yeah.
Yesterday I received a FaceBook message from a student of mine whom I have never met. This message really exemplifies why I started Flipping Physics. It really means a lot to me and he has given me permission to share it with you. This is why I do what I do ...
"Hello! My name is Bogdan, I am 24 years old and I am from Romania. Here is my life story, the short version: I wasted 5 years getting a Master's Degree in English before I realized Physics is the dream for me. So here I am, with no math or physics training whatsoever (not even during high school), joining the Faculty of Physics. If I was to have a chance there, intensive individual study was a must. So... I started studying: books, internet, teachers, colleagues, you name it. And then I found your videos. Sir (From what I've seen I think you wouldn't have liked me to call you sir, but my respect for you is too great for anything less than that), from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!!! You are explaining physics to me better than any of my teachers at the University, and a thousand times better than more than half of them. Please, please, do not stop! You are absolutely great and you have given me a chance to fulfill my dream to become an astrophysicist. Thank you for that! I wish you all the best!" |

Yep, I make physics videos in the hope that you can learn physics. If you are a physics teacher, I am very hopeful that you will want to use them to help flip your physics class. Archives
