A major component of using the Nerd-A-Pult is measuring the initial velocity of the projectile. Turns out it wasn’t such an easy task, so I made a video showing exactly how I did. |

![]() Don't miss my free webinar about Flipping Education! It is this Sunday, May 18th @ 12:30 PM. Really, I've spent a lot of time preparing for it, so stop by and let's learn some together. It's 10 PM EST and I am going to bed. Get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, limber up before the exam and find your right hand. Remember to enjoy the exam tomorrow. I am so happy to be able to help y'all out. Sorrry to those of you that need to take the AP Bio exam right before the AP Physics exam, that's just cruel.
Thank you very much for learning with me today, I enjoyed learning with you. mr.p
Tomorrow I will be giving a presentation to one of the toughest crowds I have ever faced. I can't invite you, because it is an exclusive group. The place is so restrictive that I will have to sign in and wear a name tag. I will be presenting to my daughter's fifth grade class. Wish me luck!
[the next day] It went really well! :) And, I had a great time. I talked about what flipping is, showed a 30 second time-lapse of an 87 minute traditional class, showed portions of some Flipping Physics videos, assailed them with math, showed a compilation of my kids helping out in the videos, set up a green screen, filmed the kids and their teacher, edited that to a 1.5 minute video and showed them the video. All in 35 minutes. Nice eh? Today I updated my "give" webpage. I have added "The Wall of Amazing Financial Supporters" and added this message:
Well, we have a fortnight to go before the AP Physics tests and many of the students using my web resources have fewer than 3 fortnights left in their high school careers. Therefore I am going to ask you for your financial support. Many people have told me that my “business model” is crazy. That giving away all of my content for free is foolhardy. That the only way to make money is to sell content. I don’t like their advice. My theory is that there are many people out there who wouldn’t be able to pay for this content. However, there are enough people who can afford to donate money and who will donate money to outweigh those who can’t. As a teacher, I want to be able to educate as many people as possible, regardless of their ability to support me financially. So please, if you have learned from me this year, support me financially. If you can’t afford that, there are many other ways to help out. Good luck on the AP Physics exam and on all your final exams. Thank you very much for your support, financially and otherwise, Jon |

Yep, I make physics videos in the hope that you can learn physics. If you are a physics teacher, I am very hopeful that you will want to use them to help flip your physics class. Archives
